Predictions and Best Bets for Week 5

Last Week: 10-6
Season: 37-20

Thursday Night

UCONN @ #6 Houston

Houston and Greg Ward Jr. are too talented to be upset for the second straight year by Uconn.

Kansas @ Texas Tech

Kansas is able to keep it close for a half, but Texas Tech’s offense puts up too many points for the Jayhawks to keep up.

Friday Night

#7 Stanford @ #10 Washington

In the game of the year in the PAC 12, Christian McCaffrey is able to generate enough big plays to score against the Huskie defense, while Washington struggles to score.

Saturday

#22 Texas @ Oklahoma State

Texas’ win over Notre Dame does not look as good anymore, while Oklahoma State has played much better than their record.  Look for the Cowboys to beat Texas through the air.

#14 Miami @ Georgia Tech

The Hurricanes look to be finally living up to the hype this year, while Georgia Tech’s offense has struggled against quality defenses so far.  Look for that trend to continue.

Notre Dame VS Syracuse (East Rutherford, NJ)

While Notre Dame’s defense has struggled all year, Deshone Kizer and the offense will score enough for the Irish to beat Syracuse.

#8 Wisconsin @ #4 Michigan

Michigan faces their first big test this season when they take on the Badgers.  Wisconsin dominated Michigan State last weekend.  However, Michigan’s offense will be able to put up points, and Wisconsin is not a team that thrives when coming from behind.  Alex Hornibrook is efficient, but will struggle when asked to do too much on Saturday.

#11 Tennessee @ #25 Georgia

Tennessee finally got over the hump of beating Florida, while Georgia got exposed through the air against Ole Miss.  The bulldogs will struggle to score without Nick Chub as the Volunteers win in a route.

#23 North Carolina @ #12 Florida State
Florida State finally got Dalvin Cook going last week against USF.  Look for that to happen again this weekend, but UNC will be able to put up enough points to keep things interesting.

Oklahoma @ #21 TCU

If Oklahoma is ready to play, after a bad start, on Saturday they should put up big numbers against TCU’s defense.  Even as the team is 1-2, QB Baker Mayfield has been playing very well.

#18 Utah @ California

Utah is undefeated, but only by the skin of its teeth.  Its defense will get exposed this weekend, as Cal will throw all over them.

Memphis @ #16 Ole Miss

Chad Kelly will light up the scoreboard and Ole Miss will avoid being upset by Memphis for the second season in a row.

#3 Louisville @ #5 Clemson

In a matchup of top 5 teams, and arguably the best 2 players in the country, it is Deshaun Watson and the Tigers that pull out the victory.  The difference maker is the Clemson defensive line, which will make Louisville one dimensional.

Oregon @ Washington State

Oregon bonuces back from a loss to Colorado to beat the Cougars.  Look for a lot of points to be scored in this one.

Arizona @ UCLA

Both of these teams are last second losses away from being undefeated.  The Bruins will be able to pull this one out behind the play of QB Josh Rosen.
