Predictions for Week 1

Thursday

Appalachian State @ #9 Tennessee- SEC Network 7:30

While App State has a history of upsets, and is coming off a season in which they won 11 games, Tennessee is too talented and wins this one.  However, this game will be closer than most think.

Friday

Kansas State @ #8 Stanford - FS1 9:00

Stanford, unlike last year against Northwestern, starts the season off with a victory.  Christian McCarffrey is too much for Kansas State.

Saturday

Georgia Tech VS Boston College (Ireland)- ESPN2 7:30

BC takes the early lead as their defense is able to slow down the option, and their offense gets a few big plays to win a close one.

#3 Oklahoma @ #15 Houston (Reliant Stadium)- ABC 12:00

Oklahoma and Baker Mayfield are too much Houston.  Greg Ward Jr. puts up a lot of points, but it isn’t enough.

Missouri @ West Virginia - FS1 12:00

West Virginia’s high powered offense rolls past Missouri in their opener.

Hawaii @ #7 Michigan- ESPN 12:00

Hawaii lost to a bad Cal team last week, and should not fare much better angainst Michigan.

#5 LSU VS Wisconsin(Lambeau Field)- ABC 3:30

In a game between 2 smashmouth football teams, LSU’s speed makes the difference in the fourth quarter.

#16 UCLA @ Texas A&M - CBS 3:30

UCLA’s Josh Rosen will be flustered all game as the Texas A&M defensive line lives in the backfield.

#18 Georgia VS #22 North Carolina (Atlanta)- ESPN 5:30

#20 USC VS #1 Alabama (Dallas)- ABC 8:00

Juju Smith-Schuster tests the Alabama secondary early but it isn’t enough as the Tide rolls to another win in Dallas.

#2 Clemson @ Auburn- ESPN 9:00

Deshaun Watson starts where he left off last season as he puts up big numbers.  Sean White and Auburn are able to move the ball well, but their defense do not enough to pull off the upset.

Sunday

#10 Notre Dame @ Texas-ESPN 7:30

Notre Dame gets production from both of QBs as they win easily.

Monday

#11 Ole Miss VS #4 Florida State (Orlando)- ESPN 8:00

Dalvin Cook is too much for Ole Miss as Deondre Francois plays well in his collegiate debut.
