Week 3 Predictions and Best Bets

Overall 20-8 Last Week 10-4

#2 Florida State @ #10 Louisville

In the first top 10 matchup of the season, FSU’s defense and running game will be too much for Louisville.  Louisville relays too much star QB Lamar Jackson, and won’t get enough production from the rest of the team.

#25 Miami @ Appalachian State

App State has one of the best defensive lines in the country and will get enough pressure on Brad Kaaya to cause him to throw multiple interceptions.

North Dakota State @ #13 Iowa

NDSU is by far the best FCS team in the country, and has beaten multiple FBS schools in the last few years.  Iowa is able to move the ball, but can’t put anything in the end zone, while NDSU is able to use the running game to score.

Vanderbilt @ Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech’s triple option offense is too much for Vanderbilt, and Justin Thomas is able to use big plays through the air to put the game away.

#1 Alabama @ #19 Ole Miss

Alabama finally ends its losing streak to Ole Miss.  The Alabama defense is able to cover the Ole Miss receivers and force Chad Kelly into turnovers.

#22 Oregon @ Nebraska

The ducks defense has struggled particularly against the run, but its offense will be able to outpace Nebraska.

Pittsburgh @ Oklahoma State

Pitt is one of the most underrated teams in the country, and will use James Connor to run over Oklahoma State who is still recovering from its controversial loss to Central Michigan.

#17 Texas A&M @ Auburn

Texas A&M’s pass rush will be too much for Sean White and the Tigers.  QB Trevor Knight will be able to make enough big plays to push A&M over the top for a road win.

#3 Ohio State @ #14 Oklahoma

Oklahoma’s offense has struggled in the second half of big games recently, with them getting shut out in the second half against Houston.  Ohio State’s JT Barrett will be able through and make plays with his feet against the Sooners.

#12 Michigan State @ #14 Notre Dame

Notre Dame has finally settled in with Deshone Kizer as their QB.  With him in charge, their offense has been explosive, and should be able to cover the holes in their defense.

USC @ #7 Stanford

Stanford and Christian McCaffrey will be able to hold the ball for most of the game and not let the USC offense get going.

UCLA @ BYU

UCLA QB Josh Rosen will be able to throw the ball against BYU and put up points.  BYU has yet to score 20 points this season, and their offense won’t be able to keep pace with UCLA.

#11 Texas @ California

Texas has figured out how to use it quarterbacks and will be able to score at will against a horrid Cal defense.
