BC looking to add Beer and Wine

According to a Globe report, BC is trying to sell beer and wine throughout Alumni Stadium starting with this upcoming season.  While it has yet to be approved, this is clear sign that it will happen at some point, even if it is not this year.  BC would not speak about it publicly unless they believed it would happen.  Athletic Director Martin Jarmond helped pass alcohol sales at Ohio State last season. More and more college teams are adding alcohol at games as a way to increase revenue.  Texas introduced alcohol sales in 2015, and generated $1.8 million worth of revenue from these sales.  Another important factor to consider is that alcohol being sold at games actually helps to diminish alcohol related incidents.  At West Virginia, a study found that after allowing beer to be sold in the stadium lead to over a 30% decrease in fan related incidents.  BC has played 2 games at Gillette the past 3 years where beer was sold and there were no major incidents. Hopefully, the cities of Newton and Boston allow this to pass this season.
