Week 8 Predictions and Best Bets

Season: 66-29
Last Week: 11-2

Thursday

Miami @ Virginia Tech

The Virginia Tech defense shuts down Brad Kaaya, as Jarod Evans does enough for the Hokies to get the win.

BYU @ #14 Boise State

Boise State struggled last week in a win over Colorado State, and has not played a team as talented as BYU since the Washington State the second week of the season.  Look for BYU’s defense to shut down Boise as the Cougars pull off the upset in a close matchup.

Friday

Oregon @ California

Cal’s offense will be able to move the ball up and down the field against a horrid Duck defense.

Saturday

#10 Wisconsin @ Iowa

Wisconsin’s offense has struggled this season against quality opponents, and Iowa’s defense will be able to stop them, and win in a low scoring affair.

NC State @ #7 Louisville

Louisville and Lamar Jackson will have no trouble with an NC State squad that almost upset Clemson last weekend.

Texas @ Kansas State

Shane Buschele and Texas will be able to put up points against Kansas State, while K-State won’t be able to keep up in the shootout.

#6 Texas A&M @ #1 Alabama

Alabama is looking like the most dominate college team since Florida State in 2013, and are 18 point favorites this weekend.  Their offensive line will be able to slow down Myles Garrett and A&M’s pass rush, and will use the big play to win easily.

TCU @ #12 West Virginia

West Virginia’s defense may be the best in the Big 12, and their offense will be able to score on a weak TCU defense.

Memphis @ #24 Navy

Navy will be able to control the game with the option, and will put up huge numbers on the ground against Memphis.

#17 Arkansas @ #21 Auburn

Auburn’s defense is too strong for the one-dimensional Razorbacks, and Tigers QB Sean White has been improving all year.

#22 Ohio State @ Penn State

JT Barrett and Ohio State will have no trouble with an average Penn State squad

#16 Oklahoma @ Texas Tech

Baker Mayfield will put up big numbers on Tech’s defense, and Tech’s offense will struggle for the second straight week.

#23 Ole Miss @ #25 LSU

Chad Kelly has excelled against even the toughest competition, while LSU’s offense falls back to earth without Leonard Fournette.

Washington State @ Arizona State

Washington State’s defense has greatly improved this year, and they show it off in a late night win over Arizona State.
